With the communicative task based method, communication is the key factor, both oral and written communication. This is an interactive method which means that students are required to interact with each other so that they can gain confidence but also learn from others. A lot of role playing is done in the classes and students are taught how to speak in a specific language when faced with real life situations.
One of the goals of the communicative task based method is to make sure that students are taught the basics they need to be able to effectively communicate when deal with real life travel situations.
